This week in maths we are exploring equivalence in number sentences. Students use their knowledge of number facts to write and solve equations involving addition and subtraction.
E.g. 3 + 5 = 4 + 4
In history, students continue to examine the nature of contact between Indigenous Australians and early settlers. They look at Aboriginal freedom fighter figures such as Jundamarra, Wyndradyne and Pemulwuy and the treatment of Aborigines by the authorities throughout the 'frontier conflict'. In English, we continue to explore persuasive devices used in expositions. This week. we look at the structure and features of an opening statement including presenting a point of view and using rhetorical questions. Sacraments continue to be the focus for our work in Religion. This week, students examine the symbols associated with sacraments and explore scriptural connections to the sacrament of reconciliation.
Thank you to those who have returned portfolios. Portfolios are due back as soon as possible.
